Join Streams of Light International in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, 18–25 October, for a week of focused mission and outreach in partnership with the Adventist Church in Romania. Volunteers will serve in a culturally diverse city shaped by Romanian, Hungarian, and German influences, working together to make personal connections, pray with people, share Christ-centered literature, and generate Bible study interests for continued local follow-up. Cluj-Napoca, often called the unofficial capital of Transylvania, is known for its medieval heritage, historic architecture, and university and cultural life.

A Milestone Mission

This mission marks an important milestone as Streams of Light International’s first mission in Romania. By joining the team in Cluj-Napoca, volunteers will help open a new chapter of outreach for SOLI in Europe while serving alongside local believers and supporting the work already taking place in the region. For registered participants, plant-based meals will be thoughtfully prepared and served to keep you nourished and energized for the mission. 

For local participants joining without a meal package, we invite you to bring a packed lunch and join us in the field for outreach.

What is the objective of this mission trip?

Join Streams of Light International, together with the Adventist Church in Romania and local believers in Cluj-Napoca, to help share truth-filled, Christ-centered literature, pray with people, and generate Bible study interests—bringing hope and Bible truth to one of Romania’s cities.

What is the cost for registration?

Registration for the Romania Mission is €150 per person and includes participation in the full mission programme, including training, organized outreach, worship, and evening testimony sessions. Limited free lodging is available at the host church in Cluj-Napoca for approximately 25–30 participants, but bedding is not provided. Participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel to and from Romania.

Limited free lodging is available for approximately 30 participants at the host church in Cluj-Napoca:

What will the schedule be like?

Each day will include time for worship and prayer, practical training, and several hours of outreach in Cluj-Napoca. See the detailed schedule posted in the “Detailed Program” section above.

Where will the event take place?

The Romania Mission will be based in Cluj-Napoca, with the host church serving as the main gathering point for participants:

Training, worship, team coordination, and other mission activities will be organized from this location, with outreach taking place throughout the surrounding community.

How will meals work?

Registered participants with a meal package will receive plant-based meals during the days they are on-site. For local participants joining under free registration, we kindly ask you to bring a packed lunch and join us in the field for outreach. 

How will I get to Cluj-Napoca?

Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to Romania. The recommended airport is Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP).

What should I bring?

Here is a suggested packing list:

  • Water bottle
  • Backpack or small bag for book distribution
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Modest, comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
  • Clothing for rain or cooler evenings (just in case)
  • Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, etc.)
  • Towel
  • Small flashlight (optional)
  • Notebook and pen for training and testimonies

Participants staying at the church should note that bedding is not included, so they will need to bring their own sleeping supplies. Additional accommodation details will be shared with registered participants before the mission.

How can I prepare spiritually for this mission trip?

We encourage you to set aside time each day for personal prayer and Bible study as you prepare. You may also wish to read Acts of Apostles and ask God to give you a heart for the people of Romania and for all those you will meet during this mission.
